Tremaine Aldon Neverson is one of the most promising R&B singers, popularly known by the name of Trey Songz. His first initiative into the world of singing was at the age of 14, in 1998 at a talent show in Petersburg. The show went well in spite of his mother’s worries and thus paved the way for his career in the music industry. Music producer, Troy Taylor discovered his talent during this show.

It was Troy Taylor who got Trey into his music career. Songz had to finish his high school, so he kept low on his music profile even while working with Taylor. During his second year, he along with some of his friends formed the troupe All Night Productions that performed locally. Soon after his high school, he joined his mentor Taylor and moved to New Jersey to make it big in the music industry. Trey Songz then signed his first deal of $100,000 advance with Atlantic Records. He worked with several other singers and also sung solos in movies.

It was in 2005 that Trey released his first album, “I Gotta Make It”. This was a good start for a newcomer with a No.20 rank on the Billboard 200 chart. It was his second album ‘Trey Day’ that made the real breakthrough for him, pushing his album towards No.11 on the Billboards in 2007. The album featured the Billboard hit “Can’t Help but Wait’ which got him nomination at the Grammy awards.

Trey Songz proved his versatility and moved on to hip hop hyper-sexualized tracks in his third album ‘Ready’. This was welcomed whole heartedly by his fans and took him to the third position on the Billboard chart. The album saw record sales and also gave him the 2010 BET Award for the Best Male R&B Artist. Trey Songz has lately been stepping his foot into acting for a few movies.
